Creative Opportunity Finding and Problem Solving are default capabilities intrinsic to being human. Unfortunately, most of us undergo a great deal of cultural programming by the time we are on 'our own' as adults. Much of this programming fragments and scatters our grasp of what is going on around us. The resulting fragmented and scattered perceptual framework compels us to 'see' only certain kinds of opportunities, and miss most others strewn generously around us. It likewise also makes seek solutions only in a few directions, and miss so many others that probably offer a higher likelihood of better solutions. If you want to enable a group of people to become better opportunity finders and problem solvers, you must first help them each to edit the programs that comprise one's existing perceptual framework. And this is not an easy task to undertake with a group of people who have been educated to think of themselves according to the dictates of their program, unaware even that most of the program was uploaded into them before they knew either that this was happening or how to evaluate this content. It's great you are asking the question. A beginning, at least. |
