Question ID: 461481
I have four computers linked by a home network. Three are running Win
XP Pro, one running Win ME. When I attempt to change my Internet
Explorer options, I receive the error message: "This operation has
been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please
contact your system administrator."

I am the only person using these computers, so I have never taken any
steps to name any administrator.

How can I act as my administrator so I can make the changes in
Internet Explorer I require?

Thank you.

The solution to my problem does not work. Please either suggest
another solution or void my $5.00 credit card charge.

Thank you.

either log in as an administrator on WinME or make your username an
administrator for that computer... either way you need to update your
privalages to gain access... another option is to goto your control
panel, Right click+CTRL+SHIFT On Internet Options... select "Run
As..." and you can run it under any user to that domain.
