"Bride and Prejudice" is a Miramax Films release directed by Gurinder
Chadha. It was released in the UK in October of 2004, but its US
release is scheduled for February 11, 2005. The release of the film
in the US will be initially limited to New York and Los Angeles.
QUESTION: I want to know which theater (either in New York or LA) will
host the so-called "red carpet" premiere of the film. By that I mean
the premiere at which the stars of the film walk the red carpet for
the paparazzi and at which fans and the public can spectate as those
stars arrive for the screening (kind of like people do at the Oscars,
Grammys and other awards shows).
In trying to find the answer, I have already searched several sites
and contacted one theatre, all unsuccessfully. I contacted the
ArcLight Theatres (aka Cinerama Dome) on Sunset Blvd. in Los Angeles,
but they did not know of any such premiere although they will be
showing the movie during its American run. I also searched the Mann
Theatres website which covers Grauman's Chinese Theatre on Hollywood
Blvd., the Mann Village Theatre in Westwood and the Bruin Theatre in
Westwood. These four theatres are often the sites of such
star-studded premieres. One other LA theatre that regularly hosts
premieres is the Cineplex Odeon Century Plaza. But their website did
not tell me what I wanted to know.
I have also visited a site called "Seeing Stars" which seems to get
its information from the above websites. I have also searched on the
Miramax site but have failed to find a proper contact address to ask
my question. I surmise that getting the right query to the right
person/people at Miramax can lead to the answer. |
