Hi bobbyd555,

Here you go -

>>> For Internet Explorer:

Click on Tools / Internet Options / General /
Select "Clear History".

If you would like to disable the history function:
Click on Tools / Internet Options / Content
Set "Days to keep pages in history" to zero.

>>> For the Google toolbar:

Click on the Google logo and select "Clear Search History".

>>> For Netscape:

Go to Edit / Preferences
Click the arrow next to Navigator / Click History / Click Clear
History / Clear Location Bar / Click OK

>>> For FireFox:

Click on Tools / Select Options / Privacy button / Select History /
Clear button / Click OK.

That should do it. If you have any questions, please post a
clarification request *before* closing/rating my answer and I'll be
happy to reply.

Thank you,
hummer

when I go to the google tool bar and click on clear search history it
doesn't seem to do it. If i've searched for "toner cartridges" and i
go back to the search bar to search for anything beginning with a t
'toner cartridges" will appear in the drop down area eventhough I've
cleared the search history between searches.

Hi bobbyd555,

Did you follow these directions?

If you would like to disable the history function:
Click on Tools / Internet Options / Content
Set "Days to keep pages in history" to zero.

If that didn't solve it, try this:

Click Start / Run / type: regedit.exe

1.Start a registry editor (e.g., regedit.exe).
2 Navigate to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Google\NavClient\1.1
registry subkey (yes, the registry subkey is 1.1, even though you
might have installed version 2.0 of the toolbar).
3 Select the History subkey, click the Del key on your keyboard, then
click Yes to the confirmation.
4 Close the registry editor.

Hi bobbyd555,

Did I manage to find a solution for you? I can't tell from your rating
of three stars. If not, it would've been best to stick with the
clarification process until a suitable solution was found - there is
no limit to the number of clarification requests that you can post and
I would've done my best to help you. As it is now, you've closed the
question.

Sincerely,
hummer

Hey Hummer you know why he rated you 3 stars?
He's asking for the clearing of the search names, not the URLs in the
address bar. To solve his problem, this is the solution.
At top, Tools --> Internet Options --> Contents --> AutoComplete --> Clear Forms

I think this is what he is seeking instead.

Thanks for that, hkese. I guess even GA researchers need to be drawn a
diagram once in a while to "get it". 8-) Actually, I had included your
instructions in my answer and deleted them just before posting, I
guess I didn't want to confuse things. Oh well, so it goes. Sorry for
sounding like a broken record, but there's no limit to the number of
clarifications that can be posted.

Thanks again, I really appreciate your comment.
