Hi, Tom !
There are one or two sites that may help you find an architect. A good
starting point is:
http://www.e-architect.com
This site is run by The American Institute of Architects (AIA) and
provides job listings for architects and the architectural profession
as well as associated articles.
"For those looking for an Architect, the site includes PROFILE ON THE
WEB, a search engine for locating architecture firms and businesses in
the United States."
They have a classified ads section which allows you to post details of
your project and wait for the architects to contact you. Click on
"Leads" in the blue menu bar at the top to find this.
Or you can browse resumes and approach the architects yourself. When I
looked there were 132 architects listed in New York State (a few
seemed to based elsewhere but wiling to work in NY).
For graphics you might like to visit:
http://www.titusstudio.com
and check out the work of Jeremy Sarantitis, which includes some
architectural renderings.

Jeremy's resume on his site includes freelance architectural work for:
"Team Architects, New York City
Architectural Renderings, animations, and presentations
for Stevens Institute of Technology Master Plan
Lee/Timchula Architects, New York City
CD-Rom Presentation work
Tsao and McKown Architects, New York City
Renderings for the Washington monument visitors center"
For other young graphics artists there is a long list of portfolios
at:
http://www.coroflot.com/public/browse_portfolios.asp
For just one example, there is Brett Tom, 2002 IDSA Merit Award
winner. Trained at Pratt.
I'm a fantastic thinker and conceptualizer; alone or with a team. I
can draw and sketch with anything that will fit in my hand. I can
carve foams and create models like a mad man. Alias, Solidworks,
Vellum, Photoshop, Illustrator...Mac, PC I'd like to work on
product,..."
To specify New York only, click on "Skill Filter Search" in very
little grey letters on the top right under the blue banner ad for
Spark Online.
I hope this gives you a good start to find the right people to work
with you on your project.
