I am doing some research for a non-profit organization and have a
question that may be tough to answer.

How many Public Policy organizations are there in the U.S?

This includes 527 groups, PAC?s, and the various foundations (i.e. The
Heritage Foundation)

After doing some research, I have found the # of PAC's. Now, I am
looking for the # of 527 groups and foundations that looby to effect
public policy. This includes groups like the NRA and various abortion
foundations (either pro-life of pro-choice).
