hi, can you let me know which site is the best to buy dvla private plates from please. Which is the most secure company as I have heard that some number dealers could be dodgy. I have seen this one www.personallyyours.co.uk but the site looks old, what do you think? |

Hi, I bought a number plate for my wife as a birthday present last month and travelled the web to get the best deal. It does seem that are some dodgy number plate dealers out there! I found the same number plate listed on about 5 websites of different prices. Some of these web sites looked very slick and other like personally yours very amateur. The thing is the slick looking sites nearly always charged more. In the end I bought the number plate online from http://www.plates4less.co.uk based in Swansea. It seems their prices are the cheapest and their after sales service was very good. They don?t supply the actual plastic number plates as party of the deal like some other firms but apparently it is not legal to supply plates without actually meeting the customer and checking his or her I.D. Personally now I know that I?d be very worry of doing business wit any number plate dealer who sends out number plates as part of the deal. I got my plates made up at Halfords over the counter for about £15 the pair. There is loads of information for number plate buyers and sellers at their sister site http://www.vrm-group.co.uk |

I saw this site (vrm & plates 4 less) I thought they were "home made" and for some reason they link to the www.personallyyours.co.uk site and a lot of other number plate sites. I have noticed a lot of pages are the same on this site too! Also the VRM and P4 less are not members of any trade organization which is very worrying. It also seems they could be passing off as the DVLA. Is this guy working from a back bedroom?? The best ones I have found in the last few days are www.carreg.co.uk and www.py-numberplates.co.uk , both are members of all trade bodies and have aftersales backup. I am just trying to buy quite an expensive number from the www.carreg.co.uk site, (if they budge a little on the price :-) |
