Are there (national) organizations that give awards to newsletters,
especially email (medical) newsletters?

sure, especially if they are national type awards, (not an award by
the local elks group for a local site)

Ooops, I forgot to mention, this should be an award for an internet
based 'email newsletter', not snail mail.
