Many body waxing websites state that waxing should not be done over
moles and warts. None of the websites I've seen seem to explain why.
My question is this: What problems can result from waxing over moles
(and warts), and how likely are such problems? Note: I'm more
concerned about waxing over moles than warts.

Thanks for the post, david1977-ga, but this raises the question of
what exactly "trauma to the mole" means. If trauma occurs to a mole,
what specifically happens?

Do not remove hair protruding from a mole, as the waxcould cause
trauma to the mole.

Causing trauma to a mole can cause it to become malignant.
