Dear drrudnicki-ga; Thank you for allowing me to answer your interesting question. Here is a very well done and fairly comprehensive list regarding the status of hotels and resorts in the areas hardest hit by the recent tsunami. The list is complete with links and is updated frequently to reflect each resort's progress: SAWADEE.COM http://www.sawadee.com/tsunami/hotels.htm Here are some maps from the same source that may help you identify where some of these resorts are located: http://www.sawadee.com/tsunami/index.htm Here is a frequently updated status report on the hotels and resorts in the area as they struggle to resume business and promote their venues: http://www.sawadee.com/tsunami/statements.htm Here is a very broad status report for many of the affected areas. This will give you some idea as to how long some of the areas will be under reconstruction before they are capable of accommodating the tourism expectations as they did prior to the tsunami. USA TODAY http://www.usatoday.com/travel/destinations/2005-01-06-tsunami-affected.htm Finally, here is a report in the notable non-resort beaches, including a list of those that were unaffected in Southern Thailand and the current status of those that were: ACTIVE THAILAND http://www.activethailand.com/tsunami/ I hope you find that my research exceeds your expectations. If you have any questions about my research please post a clarification request prior to rating the answer. Otherwise I welcome your rating and your final comments and I look forward to working with you again in the near future. Thank you for bringing your question to us. Best regards; Tutuzdad-ga ?
