I have a video that is on a DVD. I'd like to transfer it to a server for viewing by workstations that access the server in a lab environment. The DVD has two directories - an AUDIO_TS and a VIDEO_TS directory. Is there a way I can copy the DVD to the hard drive of a server so it can be viewed directly from the hard drive? |

What you need to do is some research in dvd ripping/copying. basically, follow the begining of the steps to rip and compress a movie, and then you can 1) convert it to a divx or mpg file or 2) open it using a dvd software program and point it to the video_ts folder. The audio_ts folder you have may be empty and is useless, all audio and video information contained on that dvd are located in the video_ts folder. There are several applications out there on the net that can do this for you. DVD Decrypter is a great program, you can use dvd shrink to make the result smaller to save server space. You can use a program called VLC (video lan client) to view the files that you result with. |
