I am looking for a transparent screensaver (bouncing image, etc.) that will work without closing out the screen to help prevent burn-in on my plasma screen. Currently, the screen savers I use are your typical savers which block the screen. I need a screensaver that doesn't block or lighten live feed on the screen, such as live video or running applications which constantly change displayed information. |

This is interesting. You want to prevent burn-in on fixed locations that change data... Except it can't change what you see... A suggestion is to change to a ticker type screen saver. Another is to turn off your monitor. From http://www.halfbakery.com/idea/Transparent_20_20Screensaver .... a screen buddy like the orange, the sheep, Neko, could do this. It's usually unobtrusive, but they pretty much cavort everywhere, and you can pick them up and place them anywhere.. http://www.screenweaver.com/samples.cfm?nav=1&sub=2 has some animated samples that can use Win2k and winxp alpha transparency. -- This is a free comment. Just a general comment - most recent monitors don't have any real need for screensavers in terms of protecting the monitor unless you plan to have it for 10/20 years or so (guesstimate). In all honesty, I suggest you don't really need a screensaver. |
