This is a long shot.... the novel is about 500 pages long, published
so far in hardback (around 3 months ago, I saw it in a UK bookshop,
mainly dark blue cover), fiction, novel, written in creative,
beautiful language, i.e. slightly quirky. I think the title is quite
long, over 5 words. I think the author is an Indian female.

What is it called?

Can you tell us anything about the plot, characters, why you noticed
the book? Anything more specific? Thanks.

Long shot in reply - It's not a long title but a long author name:
Queen of Dreams by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni, published by Doubleday
in Sept. 04. Plot could be considered quirky from Amazon's review. I
read her Sister of my Heart and it was beautifully written. I'll
keep looking - I like Indian authors. Do you have any recollection
of the plot at all?

I thought of another - The God of Small Things. It is not so recent,
cover is green and author is Arundhati Roy. It received much acclaim
a few years ago. Plot is different and there are five words in the
title. Are we getting closer?
