There is a musical score from 1935 with "Dimsey" (though not
"Omnibus") in the title.  Could that be what you're looking for?  (I
have only found a copy in a British library -- but conceivably it
could be somewhere else.)

Do you know what this book was about? I also found a book about birds
featuring your given title. If i did however know more about what I
was looking for it would be of great help.

my mother received this book as a school prize MANY years ago and has
since lost the book;she is driving me nuts thinking I took it; I
didnt!Anyhow,she never "really read it"but believes it was about the
day to day life of schoolchildren.Realize this is very little to go on
and certainly understand if unable to track;by the way my mother went
to school in Glasgow Scotland and the school she went to was Charlotte
Street ;this was back in 1930's;a daunting task I'm afraid
