In Miami, FL, and perhaps other locations, there is a
drive-through-only concept called "The Farm Store" or some such. I
tend to call it by the name "La Vaquita", due to the image of a cow on
the sign, and being in Miami, where there is a large contingent of
Spanish speaking people.
I personally believe that the concept is a good one, although it would
scare me a bit to work at one in Miami. Essentially, it is a minimart
with sliding glass doors on either side, which provides staples
(bread, cereal, milk, ice cream, laundry detergent) for a quick
pick-up. I would love to see more of these type of convenience marts
as I might just want to pick up a few things and not waste an hour at
the major local grocery store.
As far as it benefitting 7-11 stores in Canada, I would suppose that
one would have to determine Canada's local laws regarding
drive-throughs, as well as 7-11's corporate policy on this point. Even
if a 7-11 was independently owned and operated, the franchise
agreement may have specific requirements with respect to the layout
and functionality of its stores.
I live in the US, and so my comment is simply a free one that
basically says, you get what you pay for, in a $3 question. |
