What kind of fish inhabit the temporary lake formed from winter rains in this desert area of Saudi Arabia? The lake is there from probably January through April (maybe not quite that long) and has a few fish, I understand. Where would the fish come from and I assume they just die when the lake dries up? I need very reliable sources since I am writing a children's book for publication. Would Hoopoe Larks try to catch these fish? I assume Steppe Eagles wouldn't? From my research, I have found that both of these birds are there while the lake is there. Can you verify? Thank you, Teacher Janice |
