I need the Device, Monitor, and Screen sections of an XF86Config-4 file that will
cause the LCD on a NEC Ready 220T laptop computer (running linux) to
run an Xserver at 1024x768. So far I have only gotten it to run in
800x600, and I have had no luck in finding information on the vertical
or horizontal refresh rate ranges. I am a very experienced linux
user, so feel free to consider that when writing your response.

Also, is there a way to definitively tell the maximum resolution of
the screen? I am basing 1024x768 off the one page I could find with
any kind of specs on it. Obviously, this will not lead to fruition if
the display can only do 800x600. I will consider the question
satisfactorily answered if a definitive method of determining the
maximum resolution of an LCD is found.

Here's an old newsgroup posting with some specs:

Based on this, it looks like the built in display only does 800x600.

ahh... I see what is going on; the card/chipset can support 1024x768,
but the screen is only 800x600. Yeah, the page I was looking at was
in russian, and my russian is very poor, nor did they mention 800x600
anywhere, perhaps intentionally. Anyway, thanks. That was a good
page, even though it unfortunately does not contain the horizontal or
vertical refresh ranges.
