We are trying to track down the most efficient, low-cost source of as current-as-possible lists of Moms have recently or are just about to give birth (within the last 1-2 months.) Help!!! There are a lot of mailing list companies but where do they get them from? We'd love specific links and pricing if possible. Thanks! (The more info provided, the greater 'tip') |

By far the best resource on lists is SRDS (Standard Rate and Data Service) The Direct Marketing List Source. Unfortunately to access it online is going to set you back about $500. Some major libraries have it though, all it will take is a little time to research. Unlike the mailing list companies you see all over the internet - who basically do this research for you and charge you for it - you can look through the SRDS and find exactly who sells these "lists" (for example of people with new babies) how they GET these lists, how many people are on them, specifics such as "first time parents" etc. as well as costs - usually per thousand names. If you are thinking of doing a marketing campaign one of the MOST IMPORTANT THINGS is the quality of the list. Hope this helps! |

Thanks. I know about SRDS ... I need one step further .. what branch of the government (etc.) issues lists or where are the public records for new births?? (ETC) I'm sure the government does not have exclusive contracts with mail houses to only sell them the information ... I want to know how it works! If you know anything about this keep me posted!! Thanks for anything! |
