That cannot possibly by U.S. Assuming 704 is the area code, the first digit of the phone number cannot be zero or one. |

Dialing a 0(in Canada anway)in front of the number instead of the 1 will give you the options of a collect call or charging the call to a card, try it with this number or any other in NA,it won't cost anything. |

This number cannot be in any country in the North American Numbering Plan (U.S., Canada, much of the Caribbean.) http://www.nanpa.com/ |

Thankyou for the comments so far. I'm in Scotland, the phone no in question is reportted as British, but the dial tone is either American or Continental. Need to find out. Thanks |

UK 0704 numbers are for "call forwarding" so you may be connected to an international number, with little chance of finding out where. Please be careful about the possible damage to your phone bill. Thanks Leli-ga thats the answer I was expecting. It is a Scam I am close to uncovering and the Police will be interested in what Ive found out. I called the number and when he hung up on me, the operator came on the line "in Spanish". So its either Spain, South America or Central America....but hey, it's a start. Thanks again Kenny. |
