Hello -

Thank you for your question.

A company and website called "Castle Connolly" is an excellent source
for finding the nation's top doctors/surgeons. Its physician-led
research staff employs rigorous selection process. Among their
criteria are: nomination by the presidents of hospitals, peer
nomination, and appearance in one or more "top doctor" guides/books.
Doctors do not pay to be included in their database.

See more about the selection criteria here:

http://www.castleconnolly.com/about/faq.cfm#P2

If you click on the following page, you'll see a search form:

http://www.castleconnolly.com/doctors/index.cfm?type=advanced&source=Castle%20Connolly

Enter the following information:

  For "State", choose New York
  Specialty should be "Any"
  Guide should be "Any"
  For Expertise, enter: laparoscopic surgery
  For County, enter: Manhattan
  For City, enter: New York

Scroll down and click on the Search button. You'll be taken to a list
of 30 surgeons in Manhattan that perform laparoscopic surgery,
displayed 10 at a time (to get to the next 10, click the button
labeled "Next 10 -->" on the right side of the light yellow bar at the
bottom of the list). When you click on the surgeon's name, you'll be
taken to an information screen that details what guides they're noted
in, their contact information, primary hospital, and other data.

If you require any additional information, please don't hesitate to ask.

Thank you,

Also, the doctors you list do not appear in the database (which
contains over 15,000 doctors). This might speak to their
qualifications relative to those in the database, as they would indeed
appear in there if Castle Connolly deemed it appropriate.
