I am trying to donate some items.

One item is a used couch (an heirloom from the 70's, it's in good
shape and converts into a bed.)

The second item is a small refrigerator. Dorm room size.

I have tried to make these items available (for free) for charity but
no one wants them. Salvation Army in these parts will only accept new
items (????) and I am shocked by how many other local charities also
want to "pass" -- what the heck??

I am disgusted by the Salvation Army's stance (only new goods?!?!?)
and I want to know how I can have these items picked up for charity in
my neighborhood. Please don't answer unless you have double-checked
and can guarantee that this pick up will occur.

I'm so sorry. I was having a hissy fit when I wrote that message,
which affected my ability to be either clear or thorough with my
question. Sorry! Next time I'll count to 10 or wait 24 hours before
posting. :)

I meant New England and the closest large cities to me are Worcester,
MA and Providence, RI, in that order. The refrigerator was in fine
working order when we last used it, but that was about five years ago.
When I say that the counch converts into a bed, I mean that the back
of it folds down flush with the seat to make a bed, much like a futon
couch. I don't know if you need that information or not, but I thought
I'd be a little more thorough.

Please forgive the brusqueness in my original post; I was having a
challenging day. Thanks for looking.

Is "NE" Nebraska or New England? Or somewhere else?
And some idea of your nearest city might help enormously...
