I believe what you are asking is for examples of other protocols. The World Wide Web is the HTTP protocol. It encompasses websites. Another useful protocol is STMP which sends email, POP3 which receives email. If you're looking for other sources of information (and files) besides the WWW, I suggest Usenet (newsgroups.. as in NNTP protocol) which more information can be found at www.usenet.com. There is also FTP, IRC, and many many more. If this is going in the right direction and you want more information, please let me know. |
