I have an iRiver iFTP-190TC. I convert WAV files into MP3's that work fine on the computer (using Windows Media Player on WinXP) but then have these awful blips when played on the iRiver. They short, loud, and high pitch and on distort the surrounding sound. I'm after a command line utility that runs under Windows or Cygwin that will convert WAV files to MP3's without the blips. It has to be entirely command line (not launching a window). I've tried lame but get the blips (with various options). BladeEnc complained the wav was the wrong bitrate (I can't change this without adding another util in between). MP3WaveConverter worked with tiny hardly noticeable blips. But the command line launches the window version. And it nags. I've had several windows-based ones work. Maybe one of those programs can be run differently so it will work. Please provide the command line in your answer. |
