Help!  I need to buy smoked black cod, sometimes called smoked black
alaska cod, preferably in the South Bay, but I'd venture as far as San
Francisco if I have to. I've called a bunch of stores and no one seems
to carry it. I *know* it's still being caught because I had it in
Canada last month.

I think it is the same as sable fish, yes.  The FedEx idea is great,
but I need it sooner than 2 days, that's the problem.

Actually, I was shopping at Whole Foods and I just happened to see it
prepackaged in the smoked salmon section!  Very exciting..now I can
pick it up whenever I want.
