Orion International is a recruiting firm - one of my competitors. They
protect their candidates from prying eyes, as they should.
Helmets-to-hardhats.com is a new one to me so I went and signed up.
You are required to advertise positions there and then candidates
sign-up if they're interested. I think they charge for ads so it's not
free.
There are a lot of sites that have resumes of vets but they cost money
- sometimes big money, to access them, i.e. search through the
resumes. I'm aware of most of these. What I'm looking for is a way to
contact veterans who are getting out of the service or who are already
discharged. The most likely sites for free resumes would be government
sites, government files, etc. Sites that are in the public domain,
etc.
The key again is FREE searching of resume databases of veterans.
Hope this helps.

You might want to give these folks at the Dept of Veteran Affairs a call:
http://www.vba.va.gov/bln/vre/for_employers2.htm
Although their services are focused on helping employers find jobs for
disabled vets, I'm sure they will know the ropes regarding what sorts
of information are available and in the public domain.
You might also want to check out the job placement offices at
individual services, as they're likely to be a wealth of information
as well, such as these Air Force folks:
http://www.afpc.randolph.af.mil/famops/trans.htm
Let me know if these work out.

phafalafa,
Thanks. I've been to almost everyone of those. Everytime you get to
the "search resumes" section it takes you to jobsearch.org site. I'm
registered there, sometime early this week, and I still can't view any
contact info because it says I'm still not approved. Maybe that will
still come through.
Thanks anyway!
