MovableType (www.movabletype.org) is designed in such a way where it
uses scripting and database to generate static html files each time
you update content.  It does not use dynamic pages each time a user
requests it, instead it regenerates the entier site or specific pages
each time the maintainer of the site adds new content.  This offers a
couple of advantages including helping speed/server-load as well as
helping the sites search-engine rankings.

My question is are there any E-Commerce platforms that are designed in
a similar way, so as to scale nicely with large amounts of traffic as
well as give me great search engine placement.  If not, are there any
resources in programming such a site specifically with this intention
(preferably in php).
