Where can I find a TrueType font similar to the one used for the
logotype of Alaska Airlines? (Their font is apparently a custom font
called "Laser".)

Using the "What the Font?" feature at myfonts.com, I found ITC
Grimshaw Hand was fairly close.

I fond a text very like the one they use- only the letter A was
backwards in the stroke of the crossing. In a graphics program I was
able to adjust letter spacing (kerning) to get the same close look.
Applying italics almost perfected it. The biggest differece was the
"k" which looked a bit more fancy. The font was Viner Hand ITC. Not a
perfect match- but a good second best.
