Moh's surgery will be done on my scalp to remove a rectangular shape of about 1/8" wide around a perimeter of one to two inches. The center part will be left to plastic surgeons to remove. What is the procedure that the plastic surgeons do? Do they remove the entire flap of scalp within the rectangle and leave the lesion open or do they do a graft? All hair follicles will be gone. Can they do a hair transplant? Also, I'm trying to access a paper done by Dr. Tim Johnson of the University of Michigan published in the Journal of American Medical Academy of Dermantology , 37:758-764, published in 1997 and can't access a copy. Help. |

By all means have your skin condition [ b.c.c.] checked by a specialist, but investigate a newly released cream called " ALDARA" [ IMIQUIMOD] made by the 3M companyand distriuted in Australia by 3M Pharmauticals p/ltd. It does work but is expensive. |

Your questions about what the plastic surgeon will be doing should certainly be adressed to the plastic surgeon in a consultation before the surgery. No one can answer this question for that person, and a potential patient should be informed by the doctor before the procedure. |
