Question ID: 465642
On a previous question it was called to my attention that the command
"path" which works in the autoexec.bat of windows95 does not work in
win98, but has to be replaced with "setpath". I suspect that many
other commands in autoexec.bat and config.sys have a different synthax
in win 95 than in win 98. Does anybody know of a source listing and
defining the various commands to be used in autoexec.bat and
config.sys in the various windows systems?

The PATH command does in fact work the same in Win98 and Win95, to my
knowledge. See my comment on your other question - the syntax you
posted was incorrect (for both Win95 and Win98).

You should be able to get a good listing of the available commands by
using the HELP command. Then you can use HELP [command] or command /?
to get the syntax for each command.

Windows help even has a listing of DOS commands, if you can find it
(I've found it nearly impossible to find in the past, but it is
there).
