Question ID: 465821
Is there a website that runs through the basic first few lessons of
ice skating - going, stopping, speeding up etc. I do not need to be a
championship figure skater and have no interest in triple salchows but
just the basics to become comfortable ?

Hi drydock,

There doesn't appear to be a website that explains Ice Skating 101.

However, I did find videos to purchase that show the basics of Ice
Skating for Beginners. Would that be suitable for an answer?

Best regards,
tlspiegel

Amazing - I have found a void in the information superhighway.
While I am sure there are many websites on riding a bike, that is a
skill I have already acquired. I do not need the videos I am afraid -
I have a book on ice skating at home (yes they do make printed
material on this!) but am stuck in Germany for 3 months unexpectedly.
Don't ask!

Hi drydoc,

Perhaps another researcher will be able to find a website for you.

That is like asking
- 'is there a website that will teach me how to ride a bicycle'

Yeah, I knew a girl who tried e-mail correspondence ice-skating. She
couldn't get past the first lesson. Her screen kept freezing up.
