Enter your real First name and last name.
Select your region from the Preferred content list by clicking the
down arrow, then clicking your region.
Select your gender: i.e. Female
Make up a name to use as your ID, just like you did for Google Answwers. The
ID may consist of a-z, 0-9 and underscores. So, you could probably use
annamaria123456 if you wanted to. If it's already taken, Yahoo will
give you a list of alternative ones to check, or you can make up
another.
Make up a password. It has to be at least 6 characters (numbers and
letters) and capitalization makes a difference, i.e. Z is different
than z. Write down or store your password somewhere.
Re-type your password.
You can also fill out questions that will help you recall your
password if you forget it. Select a question, like "What is your pet's
name?" then fill in the answer. (Must be 4 characters.)
Fill out your Birthday so that Yahoo can use that for security.
Fill out your postal code.
If you have another email account, provide it in the Alternate Email section.
The rest of the questions determine what information shows when you
log into Yahoo. This is optional. I use the default page. You can
always edit this section sometime in the future after you've started
using the Yahoo account and know more about what you want it to do.
The next part is a security section. You need to type in the letters
that appear in the box. These numbers are actually morphed graphics,
so that a computer program cannot "read" it and create a bunch of
accounts. Pay attention to capitals and lower case letters, i.e. D is
not the same as d.
Finally, read the terms of service, and, if you agree to them, click "I agree".
Then you are done. From now on, you can go to www.yahoo.com, click on
"Mail" at the top of the page, enter your ID and password, and you are
ready to send emails. Select "Compose Email, fill in the "TO" section
and put your letter in the large box. When you are done, hit the
"Send" button. Voila! You have sent an email! |
