We are travelling from Las Vegas to San Francisco and down to Los
Angeles via the Grand Canyon, Death Valley, Sequoia and Yosemite. A
family of 2 adults and 3 children travelling at the end of May,we are
looking for recommendations of places to see and more importantly
suitable accomodation in all those places.
Preference will be given to accomodation where you have personal experience. |

Hello mduk-ga,
I'm familiar with all of the places on your itinerary. What is your
budget? What types of accomodations do you prefer? What kinds of
activities are you looking for along the way? Do you have a set
timetable? The more information you can share, the more likely I will
be able to collect the information you need. Thanks.

Hi, we are flying into Las Vegas at the end of May, collecting the car
(already booked) and then driving into town. I guess budget is
mid-range (although i don't know how much that is likely to be, we are
not looking for dirt cheap nor do we need luxury)If there is a good
value chain we can use, preferably one that has a pool to keep the
kids amused that would be good. In Las Vegas we probably want to be
in the thick of it, there are some unique sites and experiences there
so want to be close enough to take a lot of that in. Gambling won't
feature in our plans (although i might nip off for a flutter one
evening) shopping doesn't feature highly although we might fit an
afternoon in somewhere to pick up a few bargains. We have booked
accomodation at the North Rim (but have not paid so could move to the
south if there was a real benefit) we had to book two cabins as they
didn't have one large enough for the 5 of us available. We definitely
want' to do a helicopter trip in the area. We are then driving to
Yosemite (apparenlty there is some nice accomodation available there)
we would like to visit Sequoia but as we look at the map it looks like
we will have to choose between Sequoia and Death Valley, i don't see
how we can do both in the time - Death Valley seems to be the most
convenient in our route and we could possibly spend a day by the pool?
We want to spend 3 nights in San Francisco and are open to ideas and
then on to Los Angeles again somewhere the kids will like. We intend
to do one day at the studios and one day at Disney. Notice that many
of the hotels feature two queen size beds and the best option for us
would be if hotels would accommodate all five of us in one room as the
children are young.

Hello mduk-ga,
Here is an extensive list of accomodations outside the park at various
rates and distances. You might even be able to find one that could
include Sequoia.

Lodging in and near Yosemite
Good luck.
