My father was diagnosed with cancer of the Pancreas in September last year. The tumor is surrounded by an infection. Doctors attempted a Wipple operation in October but could not complete it as the tumor was too near to the aorta making it too dangerous. They have as yet not been able to confirm that he actually has cancer but all say the symptoms point to it. During the operation they removed his Gall Bladder and connected the gall tubes to his intestine and fitted a Yamakawa Ptothes which is a tube running from his intestine, through his liver and exiting through his side. This is used to inject a solution into the gall tubes to keep them cclear. My question is to any doctors, patients, relatives of any people suffering similar cconditions or anybody who has had any experience with this sort of thing. Firstly, is this tube necessary, is there an alternative and if my father does not have cancer but Pancreatitis (the tumor has not grown or spread since it was diagnosed), is there any case history of people being successfully treated and if so, how and where? |

My mother had pancreatic cancer 3 years ago. She went through all this, tube, etc...We have tried everything unfortunately nothing worked for us. The last thing we didn't try because Canadian insurances did not want to cover the expense, it's radio surgery in staten island NY (staten Island University hospital). They have a revolutionnary process to destroy the pancreatic tumors. Call them, they can help. 1-800-285-4584 |
