okay what I want is to be able to set up a webcam that can automatcly
pan and tilt and go to a webpage where I can see the feed and move it
arround.

my setup:
I got a logitech Orbit camera installed on a windows 2003 (standard) computer
the computer is also running IIS and is serving the page I want the
camera to be avilable from.
The camera is already in the correct spot for the area I wanta view,
so all I gotta do now is find something that will stream the camera
feed to who ever views the page for the camera, and will inaddtion let
them tell the camera to move since it has that ability.

there is one slight problem however: most of the common ports are
closed off to me due to isp. however there are still plenty of open
ports, so if it can handle running on a non-standard port I'm still in
buisness.

I've also tried that Active Web cam from PY software. it does not
allow me to controll the pan and tilt of the camera. I know it says it
does but on using the software I click pan and the camera doesn't pan.
I asked them about this but they said Logitech hasn't given them
enough info about how to control the physical panning of that camera.
so I want one that will work with this cam and make it move arround.

I am NOT looking for pages or discussions of other people having cam's set up.

I want to set up the cam to broadcast my place to others, I don't care
to see theirs
it did mention security and come to think about it that's a good Idea.
if I could also make people login before they could see or control the
cam that would be great.

to repeat I'm looking for a program I can use to share MY cam over the
internet, not see others cam's!

If you search through the archives at www.metafilter.com for the past
2 or 3 weeks they had a discussion about that I think it was called
Join Google see the World and had dozens of webcams that anyone could
control remotely.

That last link there, while I didn't try out that one the manufacter
had another one that looked more promsing and that one worked.
only thing I don't like is they put a link to my cam up on their page,
and I see no way to tell it to take the link down.
at least I'm able to restrict it to needing a password.
that's the biggest thing I hate about it, also it takes up two spots
in the taskbar and if I close either one the cam site goes down.

if you want that money get me a program like that but does not publish
my cam info anywhere with out me explicly telling it to do so.
having one that can hide to the system try is a good plus as well
