Alright all you programmers, here's a questions for you.

I want to write a program that can send characters, text and
requests/commands to an application that isn't listening with any
common messaging mechanism (i.e. COM, Windows Messaging, etc). I
figure, you have a keyboard sending key stoke signals to the OS. How
can I either create a solution to create keyboard stokes or write a
script/executable to 'copy' the keyboard?

I'm looking for a language and a library to get started but I don't
have the time to figure this out cause of work. If you give me enough
info, I might consider giving a nice tip to the programmer who knows
what he is talking about : ) ... Who knows, maybe even a hire for
some contract work depending on how much time you have and how good you are.

Good luck!

The applicable program will very well be written in Visual Basic.

There might be a possibility for contract work depending on your resume too.

Unfortunately I can't give you an answer response since Google isn't
accepting new applications for researchers. But the answer to your
question is a program called Winbatch. It is a solution I have used
for creating scripts that can input data or screen scrape from dumb
applications.

You can check the software out by going to http://www.winbatch.com

I would suggest that you first create a macro that does what you want
then add to it by editing the code.

Sorry about the long response time, but what you do mean that "Google
isn't accepting new applications for researchers".

Do you mean that you physically can't answer it since google has
'hired researchers' to investigate questions. I was under the
assumption that these questions were posted to the world community for
answers.

Thanks for the lead too. It's not exactly what I was looking for, but it's a lead.

Is there a way that I can give you a tip?
