I have a harddrive jukebox made by Perception Digital ( Model No
PD-430-01) which uses a standard Matrox hardrive which can be
removed and attached to my PC. I want to transfer all of the tracks on
the hard drive (which took months to load on) to make a back up copy
on my PC. I have contacted perception digital and they have told me
only they can back up the drive and I will have to upgrade to a newer
version of the Jukebox. I have told them I can purchase the jukebox
cheaper here (UK) than what they are offering (USA), but they will not
play ball. When I attach the hard drive to my PC it is reconised, but
wants to format the drive for use, is there anyway I can copy the
drive to my PC without losing the data?

When the jukebox is recognised windows will allocate a drive for the Jukebox.

are you able to access the drive in the command prompt?

Try Windows Media Player to access the tracks in your Jukebox.

What you could try is imaging the drive. Get Norton Ghost and connect
the drive to your pc but do not format it. The problem is that I don't
know if Norton Ghost will be able access the drive and properly copy
it if Perception Digital has used some strange formating. And the
software costs $70.00

I think PQ Magic (Partition Magic) would be more appropriate, give it
a shot, can't hurt!
