I am getting a message when windows xp home boots that says
"ListenOnPortTreadNew(),socket()failed" I am not able to connect to
the internet. I am able to connect to my home wireless network. I had
a virus and this may be related to the virus. The virus was detected
and removed. I don';t recall the exact name of the virus but it was
something like "dialer.15" The hardware appears to be ok as I have run
several system chekcs and have not found any hardware problems..

This might help you:

I have used this program on several similiar occasions (corruption due
to diallers) and it has always succeeded in restoring Internet
connectivity.
