It was an 80's film, with I think Powers Booth or a Carradine. A man
is released from a hospital and dosen't know who he is. He knows how
to fix German Buses. He knows about spy planes or piloting. He has
many skills not found in a normal guy (a la Jason Bourne). I think he
is in the SouthWest or Texas. What is the name of this film?!

Howdy lonomail-ga,

I am positive the movie you remember is the 1984 "Choose Me" which stars
Geneviève Bujold, Keith Carradine and Lesley Ann Warren. Details on the
movie can be found on the Internet Movie Database (IMDb) web site.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0087054/

"Keith Carradine plays Mickey, who may or may not be a compulsive liar,
but can often substantiate the wild boasts with which he regales anyone
who will listen."

One of the "user comments" there, brings up Carradine's character as one
that just got out of a hospital.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0087054/usercomments

"Anyway, the story revolves around a man who is released from a mental
institution who is on his way to Las Vegas, but ends up in downtown Los
Angeles."

The Amazon web site has a good summary by Jeff Shannon of the movie, and
you can buy it on DVD or on VHS there as well.
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00005O06R/

"Choose Me (1984)
...
40 used & new from $9.12
...
"Mickey (Keith Carradine) isn't the pathological liar he's supposed to
be; sex-talk radio host Nancy Love (Geneviève Bujold) uses an assumed
name and knows far less about sex than she lets on; and bar owner Eve
(Lesley Ann Warren) knows too much about men but not enough about love."

If you need any clarification, feel free to ask.

Search strategy:

I have seen "Choose Me" at least 10 or more times, and it is one that
is easy to remember. Carradine's character's ability to repair buses
comes into play when he is trying to leave town, but also needs money
to buy a bus ticket. Of course, a bus is broken down, and needs fixing.
Another part of the plot is that Carradine's character was a spy plane
pilot (ala Gary Powers) that had been shot down and captured. This is
one of my favorite movies.

Looking Forward, denco-ga - Google Answers Researcher
