Where should I shop for furniture in the bay area?

Dear dca:

Thank you for your question. I've found a couple of places where you
can get furniture on the cheap in or near the Mountain View area.

If you really want to get furniture for a reasonable price, you could
always check out the garage and moving sales going on every day in the
Southbay (Sunnyvale, Mountainview) areas. Listings are updated every
day:
http://www.craigslist.org/sfo/sby/gms/

Since 1954, D & H Furniture has been a good place to look for new and
used furniture - dining room sets, bedroom sets, bookcases, tables,
etc. Buy and sell. Open Tues-Sat 9-5, Sat 9-4
D & H Furniture: 569 W El Camino Real.
650/968-5505

Thanks blader, this will save me some time. The most useful answer
was the Ethan Allen -- it's not the cheapest but it's conveniently
located and I can look through their online catalog long before I get
to town.

You may also be interested in checking out IKEA. The one closest to
Mountain View is the one in the East Bay in Emeryville, CA:

4400 Shellmound Street
Emeryville, CA 94608
(510)420-4532

Their hours are 10am-9pm daily

To get a map and more information about this store location check out:

http://www.ikea-usa.com/ikea_near_you/local_store/emeryville/store.asp

You can shop on-line and they deliver most items (and assemble if
necessary). Check out their site at :

I hope this is helpful!

Cheers,
Shal-ga
