The code you provided are for standards maintained by the International Organization for Standards. "The ISO 9000 family is purely concerned with 'quality management.'" "The ISO 14,000 family is really concerned with 'environmental management.'" "ISO 9000 and ISO 14000-in brief" International Organization for Standards http://www.iso.org/iso/en/iso9000-14000/index.html ISO 18000 is a standard for the use of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) for item management. "ISO 18000" International Organization for Standards http://www.iso.org/iso/en/StandardsQueryFormHandler.StandardsQueryFormHandler?scope=CATALOGUE&keyword=&isoNumber=18000&sortOrder=ISO&title=true&search_type=ISO&search_term=18000&languageCode=en. This is a relatively new technology consisting of tags that are attached to products that can then be interrogated by scanners to access data about that particular package/cartons/pallet/container depending on what the tag is associated with. In order to receive a certification, an organization must submit to an audit by an accredited, independent, external body that determines that the organization is in compliance with the standard. "Certification, registration and accreditation" International Organization for Standards http://www.iso.org/iso/en/iso9000-14000/basics/general/basics_5.html You may find this series of web pages useful: "The Magical Demystifying Tour of ISO 9000 and ISO 14000" International Organization for Standards http://www.iso.org/iso/en/iso9000-14000/basics/general/basics_1.html Neither the International Organization for Standards web page, nor Google, are able to locate anything relating to HISO 18000. To my limited knowledge, ISO(9000,etc) are standards by which a company achieves higher standards of exellence in quality of their work and products. The standards precisly define all aspects of work process, which you have to comply. |
