Help!

Im extremely desperate to find the drivers for this camera. It is very
difficult to describe it, but I was lucky enough to find a link that
shows some images and description of the camera:

http://www.gadgets.co.uk/credit-card-digital-camera.html

There is no text on it, no bran name, no model, no serial, pretty much
NOTHING. I do not have a driver CD, and anything else other than the
USB cable it connects to the computer with. The driver update/lookup
done by windows results in no matches, and I am extremely desperate to
find the device drivers used for this camera.

All I know is that they should come with the MyDSC camera package,
I've obtained about 2 different versions of that software for cameras
slightly different than my own and neither have worked.

I am desperate beyond any reason thus I made the price for this question so high.

Thank you!

Hi there,

I've been sending out a flurry of e-mails to retailers carrying slim
"credit card" cameras. While most of them responded that I would need
to make a purchase before they would send the driver, one of them was
nice enough to offer to mail the windows driver CD. He carries
several variations of the camera and as such has different software
for each; if you describe your particular camera to him, he can send
you the driver CD.

His name is Tim Bergins and his email address is timbergins(a)gmail.com
*please note that when you email, you should replace (a) with @. This
was done to prevent spam e-mails to his account.

I hope this has been helpful and if you need any further
clarification, please feel free to ask for one.

Cheers,
Tox-ga

Hi there,

I have another contact available if Tim Bergins is unable to mail you
the driver. However, I was told explicitly in an email that he has
the driver - what was the complications, may I ask?

Cheers,
Tox-ga

At first he requested the details about the camera. Then he replied
with a statement that he is going to have the proper CD shipped to
him. I felt very lucky and decided to wait. I've just recently
received an email, without the drivers, stating that he is unable to
figure out the proper driver because there are so many variations of
the camera out there.

thank you

Hello,
I have inquired to Tim Bergins regarding the matter and he has emailed
me replying that his distributor has sent him the CD in question and
has emailed you asking for your address. Perhaps you did not receive
his email; here is the email that he forwarded to me:

----

I need your name and full address in order to mail you the driver.

Best regards,
Tim

I do believe that the camera shown is a Bell and Howell model - there
are many drivers for those cameras:

http://www.camera-drivers.com/companies/525.htm

Is there an FCC ID number on the camera (perhaps under a battery
cover). If so, you can do a search on the FCC Web site and it wil show
you some details for the camera (manufacturer, etc.).
The FCC ID search is here:

https://gullfoss2.fcc.gov/prod/oet/cf/eas/reports/GenericSearch.cfm

You only need to fil in the first 2 fields on the search page to get results.

I wonder if you couldn't just buy a new camera ($29.99 from this
seller on Ebay at the link below) or ask him if you can get the
software from him for a small fee (or free!).

Good look!

Additional information: this camera is a digigr8 SY-2180 (digi great)
camera. A quick search of Google for DigiGR8 finds to sites that sell
different models of DigiGR8 cameras. Maybe one of these retailers will
send you the drivers, or better yet point you to a download location.
I have not pinpointed a download location in the few minutes I spent
looking.

Check this link of a reputible reseller:

http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=SY-2180&cat=CAM

Looks like this camera has been rebranded by different companies and
is a 'generic' camera. Did you try Windows XP to see if it would auto
detect it? Do yo uhave access to a Macintosh running OS X as it may
also be able to identify it.

Good luck with it - at least you know you can always buy one
inexpensively from computergeeks.com and get a driver CD - far less
than your $99 question fee here!
