In Brazilian Portuguese the word "new" sounds close to the Brazilian Portuguese word "Nu" which means "Nude" in English. Regards THX1138 |

In Yiddish, "nu" has a meaning similar to "eh" or "so?" |

There are many words in Chinese that are pronounced approx. as "nu". Depending on the tone used, it could mean slave, cross-bow, indignant, to strive, child, nag (as in an old horse). Check out this link for a Chinese to English dictionary. http://www.tigernt.com/cedict.shtml |
