The problem is in your RAM modules. You need to exchange the RAM
module you have in your desktop with a new one. Your computer still
boots because the stick isnt completely dead, but has instead bad
sectors. It will die soon.

Go to http://www.crucial.com/ and enter your make/model computer and
they will show you exactly what you need to buy. Get AT LEAST a 512
stick.

Bad RAM cells do not make a PC run slow -- Windows will blue-screen as
soon as a memory operation fails. The error you show is a software
error, not a hardware error. Download and run the free memory tester
from http://www.memtest86.com/ and I bet it won't find any memory
errors. Try that and then we'll talk about what really makes a
computer run slow.

i agree the problem is probably not in the ram module... it is
possible your ram is bad so you should test it.... you should run
virus scans, ad-ware, spybot, xoft, spywareblaster scans... you should
adjust your startup under msconfig and stop un-necessary things from
running (becareful what you stop though).... hard drive problems can
also cause your system to run slow... i have seen hard-drives whos
seek time is slower than usual but isn't bad enough to be caught by a
hard drive scan... these drives usually are on there last leg... most
of the time a slow machine is due to software... but hardware should
be tested and virus/adware should be cleaned of your system...

P.S. if you can afford to... reformat and reinstall... if it still
runs slow then you know its not software.. this of course is an
extreme solution.

If the RAM module is ok when memory testing software is run. there
might be dust between the RAM and PCI slots which is making the system
run slow. A little dust within the CPU can wreck havoc. It is
imperative to dust the CPU.

An easy way to check for spyware is to get a free scan to see if you
have any issues. For example, you can get a free scan at

Noone has mentioned the instruction of referenced memory that could
not be found. I assume the computer is looking for the referenced
memory. How would you delete the instruction to find the referenced
memory so the computer is not looking for it. I assume you would first
have to locate the file where the instruction is imbedded. How would
you find the instruction? Need some deep help Tried the easy stuff.
Tried to reinstall XP cannot get to DOS. Installed the home edition
and upgraded to Pro Edition. Computer confused and will not allow me
to reinstall windows home edition. Need to start from dos. Thanks Jim

Hi

it seems to me that you are having some sort of problem with a
conflicting program that is attempting to access your computer memory
in a certain way
I would recommend running a free registry repair tool such as
http://www.pcdocpro.com to eliminate any problems with your slow pc
