Hi, I am trying to install Windows Server 2003 Enterprise edition on
my laptop pc. The installation starts normally but at some point at
the GUI when it says "35 minutes remaining" the installation just gets
stuck. I then turned the power switch off and restarted the computer
and chose the "Repair previous installation" option. It went through
well now. The only problem is it never asked me to choose the
administrator password which is a part of the installation. Now when
the computer restarted, I see that "Press alt+cntrl+del to log on"
screen. When I do, it ask me the password. I tried a lot of passwords
and usernames but none of them worked. I have no idea how to get over
this. Help please.

I believe that you can just hit enter at the log in prompt. We have an
installation of Windows 2000 Server Edition and by default, it
installed with no password for the Admin account. Give it a try!

I would download a copy of the Offline NT Password & Registry Editor
This tool is Linux based but has a easy to use menu interface

http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/

You can download a copy to diskette or make a bootable CD.

? This is a utility to (re)set the password of any user that has a
valid (local) account on your NT system, by modifying the crypted
password in the registry?s SAM file.
? You do not need to know the old password to set a new one.

There is also a DOS port available:
