I've heard from recruiters at my school that the program is a
bait-and-switch. If you're accepted, there's a good chance you'll end
up working at one of their theme parks as a ride operator or vendor.
So it's no good for a so-called "professional" internship.

Yes, the college program may make you work in a "minimum wage"
position such as operating the rides, working at a restaurant, or
managing the cashier at a merchandise shop. However, you get a chance
to take classes that may be worthwhile, and you might be able to do
some networking, which may help you out later in your career.

Many people may leave the college program somewhat disappointed and
disillusioned, but others come out of it as having enjoyed their time
with Disney. It depends on what you're expecting to get out of the
program. The way Disney markets the program may make you expect a lot
more than you'll actually get, but with realistic expectations about
what kind of job you will actually be working, you could really enjoy
the experience.

The best advice would probably be to smile a lot and show an outgoing,
enthusiastic personality. Basically a "Disney" personality. Show that
you really love Disney and would be truly happy to work for them.
