Hi Chuck,

There are several companies that provide the type of service that you
are looking for - a great starting point is at this free estimate
generator which can give you prices for 15 companies:

http://www.moving.com/mscripts/resultsnational.asp?service=15&zip=

In my search I also came across Enclosed Vehicle Transport:
http://www.enclosedvehicletransport.com/index.htm

They specialize in "special automobiles and motorcycles"; the website
is worth checking out. It has descriptions of how they transport
vehicles, an FAQ page, and you can also ask for a free quote.

As far as a recommendation goes, I think talking to individuals is a
somewhat random method of determining which comapany is best. There is
usually a couple of things worth asking the company you are about to
deal with:
1. Do you have insurance to protect my vehicle?
2. How long have you been operating?
3. Are you listed with the Better Business Bureau?

On that last point, you can actually verify who is listed and who
isn't. The BBB has a searching facility so that you can determine or
confirm whether a company has actually been certified by this
well-trusted organization:
http://search.bbb.org/search.html

Being listed means that the company will follow certain guidelines set
out by the BBB for conducting business operations. If the company has
the BBB logo besides their name, that means that they are a member of
the BBB.

Here is another company I found using the following Google Search:

This is AutoNet...and personally I would feel a lot more comfortable
dealing with them since they are accredited by the BBB (its right
there on their home page!).

Anyways, I hope this has provided you with some insight into choosing
the right company to move your car for you. If you have any trouble
understanding the information above, please post a clarification and I
will make it clear for you.

Thanks for using Google Answers :0)

Cheers!

You will save money and get more personal service if you can go
directly to the driver instead of going through one of the big
companies. Most of the large auto transport companies are just
brokers: they are going to hire out the gig to a private team anyway
so you might as well try to get to the private team directly and not
have to pay the broker's cut.

I have one excellent company to recommend: Fine Things Auto Carrier.
It's a husband and wife team based out of Oklahoma but transporting
coast to coast. They shipped my 1964 Fiat 1500 cabriolet from my place
in California to its new owner in Arkansas and were great people to
deal with. I've since recommended them to others and everyone has a
positive story to tell about them.
Here is their website. http://www.finethingsac.com/ If they won't be
in your area soon enough for you, perhaps they can pass you along to
someone they know - a lot of the haulers keep in close contact. Good
luck!
