Howdy glenny-ga,
This company looks clean and safe. They are members of the Better Business
Bureau (BBB) and have a clean record since they have been a member.
http://www.dallas.bbb.org/commonreport.html?compid=90007791
"This company has been a member of this Better Business Bureau since September
2003 ... Based on BBB files, this company has a satisfactory record with the
Bureau."
Further contact information for 3B Software can be found on the BBB web page.
A check on their WHOIS information, shows their BBB and WHOIS information match
up with each other. This is a good sign. Furthermore, the WHOIS record shows
that the web site address was established in July of 1997, so they have been
around a while.

To check their WHOIS record, go to the above URL and put in 3BSoftware.com in
the "Enter a search term:" box and click on the "Enter" button.
Digital River handles their order processing, and they are a reputable company
that has been in business since 1994.
http://www.digitalriver.com/corporate/company01.shtml
"Digital River is a global leader in e-commerce outsourcing, having built,
managed and grown revenues for more than 40,000 clients since our inception
in 1994."
The checkout process that you go through to buy software from 3B Software
through Digital River encrypts your personal information, so there should
not be any problems there.
If the above was not enough, several large companies sell 3B Software products,
including CompUSA.

As for the software itself, from question subject, it appears you are looking
at their "Registry Repair Pro" program. If you want, you can try out the
product before you buy it, by downloading a trial version at Download.com.
http://www.download.com/Windows-Registry-Repair-SE/3000-2094_4-10334581.html
Download.com is run by CNET Networks, Inc. and is a safe place to get software
for trial purposes, etc.
The program appears it might be shareware, so you might be able to get it for
less than the $19.99 price shown on the 3B Software web site.

"Price: 9.99
Licence: Shareware"
There are at least two well rated and totally free alternatives that will let
you clean up your registry, if that is what you are trying to accomplish.
There is RegClean from Microsoft.
http://www.download.com/RegClean/3000-2094_4-881470.html
RegClean is a minimal program. You double click it and it runs, and that is
pretty much it.
There is also the TweakNow RegCleaner program.

Before buying a product from the 3B software web site, you might want to check
out the comments on the Download.com web site.
http://www.download.com/Windows-Registry-Repair-SE/3640-2094_4-10334581.html
"My second, and more serious, complaint is the product purchase page. The
publisher advertises a special price of $19.99 on the order page, but on the
second page, right before you are asked to enter your credit card information,
they've pre-selected an 'extended download service' option that costs an extra
$9.99. It's easy to miss this in the long page of special offers and if you go
ahead and make the order, you'll be charged an extra 10 bucks."
I went through the basic purchasing process for 3B Software's Registry Repair
Pro and the comment from the Download.com site is accurate. I am not a big
fan of that kind of marketing.
Personally, I use Microsoft's RegClean and and it does the job. I have used
RegCleaner in the past, and it worked well for me, too. I am also of the mind
that if there is a good and free alternative to paying for software, that is
the way to go.
Also, if you already have a program such as Symantec Norton SystemWorks, then
you already have a program that will clean your registry.
If you need any clarification, feel free to ask.
Search strategy:
