I need to know the percentage of household with varying number of tv channels starting around 1995 and continuing to 2000,2001,or 2002. i.e. what % of households had 11-19 channels in 1996, what % had 50-75 channels? What % had 0-10 channels in 2000? and so on. If not % then number will work of course too. If you can find average number of channels per household per year that would be helpful as well. Please include sources. |

I can't justify getting $18 for this: Hello, According to Nielsen as reported in the book Broadcast/Cable/Web Programming by Susan Tyler Eastman and Douglas A. Ferguson, the average household received 41 channels in 1995 and 74 in 2000. <http://www.cofc.edu/~ferguson/bcp/updates/chap1/channel_repertoire_2001> For more detailed data, you may have to pay. Wilkofsky Gruen Associated Inc. says it can tell you the answers you seek (http://www.wilkofskygruen.com/data_television.htm). For contact information, see (http://www.wilkofskygruen.com/). The National Cable & Television Association's Cable Developments Book, which includes industry statistics, is free but not online. See (http://www.ncta.com/docs/faq.cfm#a17) for information on getting a copy. Good luck. |
