One of my favorite Night Ranger songs is "Sentimental Streets" which hit #87 on the 1985 top 100. In this song there are references to two places that I have wondered about since 1985. One is "Madame Wong's Two" and the other is "Conte Razor's cafe". See lyrics below. I'd like you to find out if these were real places, and assuming they were, I'd like to know the history of them. I've searched the web and usenet and come up with nothing. Lyrics snippet: Saw you dancing Out at Madame Wong's Two You did those same to steps That I taught you back in June Heard you dined last night At Conte Razor's Cafe |

The only thing i can come up with is that it was a club in the 80's. Im am not quite sure about the "two" the only thing I can think of is maybe the reopened it at one point or another. We worked a lot in the early '80s in Los Angeles clubs like Madame Wongs, etc. http://www.jamesintveld.com/bluesuedenews.html Wong's West has been torn down http://www.wednesdayweek.com/gallery/mw85/mw85.htm |
