Hello,

I'm looking for a solution for an annoying sound that continues as
soon as I pass the 120Km speed mark.

If there's a simple way of removing it or a process that requires
technical background, I would appreciate it. Also, if there are
commercial products or replacement chips, that would also be
appreciated.

Dear lizardnation,

Is your Passat the version for the US market or the normal European version?

Hello Scriptor,

It's the European market version. :-)

Hmm ... that makes it a bit more complicated. My brother is a
specialized VW auto mechanic, but he does not know about a speed
warning sound in any European Passat version. When I asked him, he
told me that such a problem is something for a licensed (!) Volkswagen
garage to deal with, because he has never heard about a similar thing
and tele-diagnosis in such a case might lead to dangerous results.
Anyway, I am not posting this as an answer since it is too 'simple':
Drive to a VW garage as soon as you can and have a specialist look at
it. If it is a feature, he will be able to turn it off. If it is a
malfunction, he will (hopefully) find and fix it.
Excuse me for not providing a real 'do it yourself'-answer; but I know
very well that strange problems with an automobile are nothing to take
light-hearted...

Best regards,
Scriptor

Hello Scriptor,

The issue is a feature and not a problem, as you've stated. I will
try and get them to remove it if they can.

Thanks for the free advice. :-)
